Discover designs inspired by space and jungle themes, rather than the usual cartoon characters. When people think of block prints for children, they often imagine only a limited set of familiar cartoon motifs. Rarely do they associate hand block printing with imaginative, educational themes. Our designs break this convention by thoughtfully incorporating motifs such as aliens, planets, spaceships, mountains, tents, animals, and more—bringing these themes to life in a way that is engaging, creative, and meaningful for children.

This collection moves beyond ordinary designs and presents an extensive range of motifs with rich, detailed representation. Traditionally, hand block printers tend to avoid small or highly detailed motifs due to the complexity involved in carving wooden blocks and executing precise printing. However, this collection challenges conventional block printing techniques and showcases truly extraordinary craftsmanship, pushing the boundaries of what is typically achieved in hand block printing.

A total of 30 wooden blocks were carved for the two Creative Kids designs. To put this into perspective, most hand block–printed designs typically use only 4–5 blocks, and even complex patterns rarely require more than 6–7 blocks. In contrast, each of our designs required 15 individual blocks, making this one of the highest block counts used for any single design. In addition to the number of blocks , we have also used 6 to 7 distinct colors to accurately represent the motifs and add cheer to the overall pattern. This is hence a true masterpiece in the world of block printing.

Printing such a complex design was not easy for the rural artisans, as they are typically accustomed to working with only four or five blocks and colors. However, we are extremely grateful to the team for investing considerable time in learning and training to achieve these seamless patterns. Even after mastering the process, the team required approximately twice the time to print a single bedsheet of this design compared to other designs, reflecting the intricacy and craftsmanship involved.
